Dave is remembered very fondly by his many grade school and TFS high school classmates of Lansing, Illinois. His passing touches us deeply as we sadly acknowledge the loss of one of our own.

My heart goes out to all of the family & friends also. I really feel this loss along with you. I had a huge crush on Dave at T. F. S. High school. Senior year we had some type of creative writing class & I often did his homework. So very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. Looking in my yearbook now.

The name "Dave Mason" always brings a wistful smile. He was one of the most buoyant characters of my childhood and I especially remember him in junior high riding his bike around town - no hands, of course! Dave and I never kept in touch after our schooldays, but I was impressed to see that he served as a state police officer. A genuine "good guy." Funny memory: In 8th grade, his favorite song was "I Want Candy" by the Strangeloves. He'd sing it at the top of his lungs. Sending tender thoughts to you as you bid farewell. I know his big personality and brilliant grin shine on in his loved ones.
