Allan Lee Busse, the son of Leo and Martha (Krueger) Busse, was born on January 7, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. He rests in peace on July 19, 2017. Undoubtedly, he now feasts on his long awaited dinner of steak and lobster with his wife Jackie who passed away two years ago.
Al is survived by his three sons Mark, Mathew (Julie), Michael (Jamie); his three step-children James Davia (Berta), Jamie O’Connor (Richard), Jody Langford (Mark); 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Al studied for two years at Valparaiso University, but he never stopped his passion for learning by reading novels of history and war. He retired from AT&T where he dedicated 28 years of service as a telecommunications repairman. He was also a past member of The American Legion Post No. 50 in Blue Island. In his free time, Al was an avid fisherman who loved casting his fishing pole in the cool lakes of Minnesota. In his younger years, he could be found traveling the open highways by his favorite means of transportation, his motorcycle. Al lived the remainder of his days peacefully in Indiana with the unconditional love and care provided by Jody and Mark, to whom we are forever grateful.
A special tribute to Hospice Franciscan Communities of Crown Point for their devotion and dedicated care. Specifically his nurses, Paula and Donna, who always made him smile, Deacon Duane Dedelow who lifted him spiritually, and Mike who volunteered his time and companionship playing Pinochle with Al on a weekly basis.
Family and friends will celebrate his life on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer, Indiana 46311 with a Memorial Gathering from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Deacon Duane Dedelow will officiate a service at 12:00 noon followed by Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice Franciscan Communities or the Animal Shelter of your choice.
