Yvonne Patricia Allen

Loving daughter of Virginia Abramowicz (Williams) and Jan-Roger Knutsen and devoted mother to Kayla, Deidre, and Lorelei Allen.

Yvonne Patricia Allen, age 49, of Crown Point, IN, passed away unexpectedly in her home Sunday December 15th. Born in Chicago on June 24, 1975, raised in the south suburbs, she has lived in northwest Indiana for the past 25 years. After graduating from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 1993, Yvonne went on to receive her ASN from Prairie State Community College. Yvonne worked as a Registered Nurse at Loyola Hospital and then devoted herself to private duty for special needs adults at HomePointe HealthCare.

Yvonne embraced living in the Chicagoland area. Some of her favorite times were spent at the Christkindlmarket, the Shedd Aquarium, and Brookfield Zoo. Also enjoyed festivities in Indiana such the Blueberry Festival, the Lake County Fair, and local farmer’s markets. She enjoyed family events and holidays, especially Christmas. Her ornament collection, started at birth, inspired her passion for decorating every holiday. She lived life fully and wholeheartedly giving her love, time, and energy to her daughters and family.

Preceded in death by grandparent Charles E. Williams of Chicago Heights, IL, grandparents Roger (Marit) Knutsen of Colorado Springs, CO, father-in-law Theodore Allen of Park Forest, IL, uncle Charles E. Williams Jr. of Dallas, TX.

Survived by her three loving children Kayla, Deidre, and Lorelei Allen and their father Marcus Allen. Grandmother Lucy Williams (Moreno) of Chicago Heights, IL, mother Virginia Abramowicz (Williams), father Jan-Roger (Elissa) Knutsen of New Lenox, IL, mother-in-law Mattie Allen of Park Forest, IL, aunt Dianna (Hector) Lara of Chicago Heights, IL, aunt Barbara (Jere) Klein of Port Charlotte, FL, aunt Ruth-Ann (Phil) Larish of Falcon, CO, Wesley (Carmen) Knutsen of Colorado Springs, CO, Erik Knutsen of Colorado, sister-in-law Chaundra (Dave) Harrison of Flossmor, IL, sister Michelle Seegers of Hebron, siblings Runa Knutsen of Chicago, IL, Ian Knutsen and Andrew Knutsen of New Lenox, IL, two nieces Cyle Harrison and Lauren Schultz, three nephews Hunter Yates, Carter and Carson Seegers, and one great nephew Owen.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, at Castle Hill Funeral Home 1219 Sheffield Avenue Dyer, IN from 10:00 am until 1:15 pm, a Celebration of Life Service will follow from 1:15 pm - 2:00 pm.
