Willie was born on June 13, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Willie Reed Sr. and Rosebud Reed. He married Princess Zenetta Reed (née Roberts) in 1978 and remained in the Chicagoland area throughout his life. They had five children. Willie was a mental health and substance abuse counselor for many years.
He was active in his church, enjoyed reading and discussing the Bible, and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed watching and playing sports, especially baseball, wrestling and basketball. He loved to eat and couldn’t resist a Maxwell street polish, Portillo’s hot dog, popcorn and apple pie with butter pecan ice cream.
Willie is survived by: his five children, Princelyn, Weylin (Katie), Phemara, Porsha (Joey) and Willis; his four grandchildren; his two sisters, Beverly (Nathaniel) and Karen; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Princess Zenetta; his mother, Rosebud; his father, Willie; his brother, Kenneth; and two sisters, Deborah and Willie Ruth. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois 60409 with a Memorial Gathering from 5-8 p.m.
