William F. Powers, age 86, of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025 in Munster, Indiana. He was born in Hermanville, Mississippi on August 6, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert B. and Maddie Virginia (nee Barland); brother-in-law Jackie Franklin (Children Gina Lee, William Franklin and his son Michael William). 
 

He graduated in 1957 from Mckinnley High School in Winchester, Indiana with a track speed that sent him into the Olympic time trials.

He served our country at McDill AFB in Tampa, Florida where he wed Patricia Mae (nee Lipke) in 1959. He is survived by his sister, Emma Jane Farber, his four children and extended family: Carrie Dawn (Greg, son Joshua Kjolhede); Blain Austin (Candace, children Blain Austin Jr, Olivia Joy and Christian Louis); Polly Dee and Rex Ivan; second wife of 37 years Linda Lee; stepdaughter Jennifer Marie (David, daughter Kendra Marie) Engle.
