Werner Emil Ament, age 95, of Cassopolis, Michigan and formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away May 8, 2024 in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born to Josef and Anna (née Winkelmann) Ament in Gerolzhofen, Germany on April 1, 1929. Werner is survived by his loving brother Gus (late Connie) and his family and his devoted sister Irene (late Joseph) Chelbana and her family. He was a cherished uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and a dear friend of many. Werner was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lea and his sister Gertrude “Trudy” and her husband John Mees.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer, Indiana 46311 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. when a service will be officiated by Rev. Ronald Kondziolka at the funeral home followed by Interment Services at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood, Illinois with Werner being laid to rest with his wife Lea.
