Wendy Roethler, a beloved matriarch, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on July 7th 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Ozzie, her three cherished sons, Joey, David, and Dylan, her adored grandson, Georgie, her devoted brothers, Marko, Mickey, Matthew, and Lawrence Jr., her kindred and graceful sister Amy, and her treasured nieces and nephews, Aiden, Alex, Amelia, Lorelai, Jessica, Jacob, Joshua, and Marissa.

Wendy is now at home in eternal peace, reunited with her favorite Uncle PJ, who recently passed, and likely catching up over a heavenly cup of coffee. She’s also joined her mother and father, though, true to form, she’s probably insisted they’re not in the same room—she always did love a good family feud, even in the afterlife.

As the heart and soul of her family, Wendy was the glue that held everyone together. Her fierce love for her family was matched only by her determination to nurture a tight-knit, loving environment for her husband, sons, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews alike. She was a loving sister to Marko, Mickey, Matthew, Larry, and Amy, always there with a laugh or a kind word, and an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews showering them with affection and love. When Georgie arrived, Wendy’s world transformed. Becoming a grandmother gave her a new lens on life, filling her with radiant pride and purpose. She’d tell anyone who’d listen about Georgie’s every milestone—and, let’s be honest, even those who didn’t want to hear about Georgie got an earful anyway.

Wendy’s warmth, humor, and boundless love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer Indiana 46311 from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.In lieu of flowers, please bring your loving and cherished stories and pictures of Wendy. She would love that.
