Virginia (née Farias) Corpus, 85, of St. John, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2026.

Virginia was born May 6, 1940 in Elsa, Texas to Andres and Gregoria Farias.

She is survived by her children Natalie, sons Frank Jr., and James, siblings: Dennis (Yvonne) Farias, Maty (Roy) Billman, Rory Melendes, Lala Lovelace, and Ruby Farias. Many nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Preceded in death by husband Frank, parents Andres and Gregoria Farias, brothers: Victor (Lourdes, still living) Farias, Freddy Farias, Jorge (Yolanda, still living) Farias, sisters: Alicia (Ted, still living) Layton, Andrea (Joseph, still living) Zaragoza.

Virginia worked at Sears for 10 years and Strack and Van Til for 25 years. She loved the outdoors, nature, and gardening. She was a great cook especially Mexican cuisine. She loved her cat Bebe, who was always by her side.

Virginia was a quiet and loving person and loved by many. She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Church: 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, Indiana on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Keith Virus officiating.
