Victor Jorge, 79, of Schererville, IN, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2025.

Victor is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Dolores - his partner in life and laughter for what felt like a billion wonderful years - and by his children, Victor Jr., Michele, and Jeff. He will be forever cherished by his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Samantha, Jessica, Trevor, Taylor, Lily, Riley, Sophia, Khloe, Griffen, and Cole, each of whom carries a piece of his heart and spirit.

Victor lived a life rich with passion, joy, and humor. Whether camping at The Dunes, climbing the sandy heights of Mount Baldy, or basking in the sun along the shores of Lake Michigan, he found beauty in the simple things and turned everyday moments into lasting memories. His love of music - especially the sound of a guitar in his hands - was a constant thread in the fabric of his life. The joyful echoes of him playing and singing, with grandkids dancing around him in laughter, will remain etched in the hearts of all who heard them. A devoted caretaker of his home, Victor took immense pride in his yard. His flowers and foliage - some generously “borrowed” from here and there - bloomed under the touch of his green thumb, creating a backyard that brought him and others quiet joy.

More than anything, Victor delighted in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He poured his time, energy, and heart into their lives, always ready with a story, a silly joke, or a helping hand. He had the patience of a saint and the heart of a hero. No request was too strange, no idea too wild - from unclogging dryer vents to sitting through full “MiMi” makeovers and proudly sporting painted toenails. And, of course, his famous cream cheese tacos will live on as a legendary family staple.

Victor taught by example - how to love deeply, laugh freely, and give generously. Though words cannot truly express how deeply he will be missed, his legacy lives on in the memories he made, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.

As we grieve his passing, let us also honor his life by remembering the past with gratitude, living the present with joy, and embracing the future with hope.
