Thomas (Tom) Wasik entered eternal rest on June 23, 2025, at the age of 84, with family by his side. He was born on October 11, 1940, to Stanley and Bernice Wasik. Tom attended Thornton Fractional High School in Calumet City, Illinois, and married his high school sweetheart, Cletis, in 1960.  Tom was an avid motorcycle rider in his youth, and loved heading out on his bike to all sorts of locations, including a venture or two to Daytona Beach for all kinds of fun. He proudly served as a member of the Army National Guard, Company C 113th Engineer Battalion until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Tom was happiest when he and Cletis moved to their farm in Michigan City, IN, and always wished he could return. He lived briefly in Florida before returning to Calumet City in 1984 where he lived out his years.  Tom was a self-made man, and had all sorts of jobs, from opening a landscaping company to being a heavy machine operator and wooden pallet recycler.  In retirement his passion for the Armed Services translated into volunteering in the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Great Lakes Wing and the American Legion (Post 330). 

Tom’s Catholic faith and Polish heritage were central in his life. He loved football, specifically the Chicago Bears and the Fighting Irish. Tom is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Arnold of Des Moines, IA; son-in-law, Ryan; grandchildren Hannah and Graham, and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held July 2, 2025, at St. Andrew the Apostle, 768 Lincoln Avenue, Calumet City, IL. Visitation begins at 10am, with the service starting at 11am, and a light luncheon at the church immediately after.
