Thomas Jerald Newkirk “Jerry”

Thomas Jerald “Jerry” Newkirk, age 82 of Dyer, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bertha Newkirk and his daughter, Gena Brown. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carol Boyer.  Loving father to daughters, Dana (Jeff) Koehler and Patty Newkirk, stepchildren Penny (Ken) Warstler, John Boyer, and Mary (George) VanCuren. Proud grandfather to Daniel (Amy) Segally, Becky Segally, Alexander (Erica) VanCuren, Randall Segally, Laura VanCuren, and Jake, Jordan, and Kendal Brown and great-grandfather to AJ, Hailey, Gwendolyn, Mason, Jacqueline, and Olivia.​

Jerry was born in Attalla, AL on March 21, 1937. He was a proud Local 395 Ironworker for over 30 years.

He loved spending time with his loving wife Carol, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jerry was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, loved fishing and camping in Sturgis, MI, playing cards and watching football.

The memorial service will be held on Friday January 24, 2020 at Castle Hill Funeral Home located at 1219 Sheffield Ave. Dyer, IN from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM. 

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
