Tharon Carlene Langdoc (Anderson) was born on February 2, 1948 in Huntsville, Alabama. The only daughter born to her mother Pearlie Mae Anderson (Flatt) and father Clinton Carter Anderson. She had two older brothers Clinton Arnold (Nina) and Bobby Wayne (Gwen) and would be joined by younger brothers Eddie Glenn in 1950 and Gail Edward (Sandie) in 1956.
“Carlene” moved with her family from Huntsville, Alabama to Hammond, Indiana in 1952 and then to Calumet City, Illinois. She attended Thornton Fractional North, where she met her High School sweetheart Carlin “Carl” Ronald Langdoc. They were married on May 15, 1966 and welcomed 3 daughters, Carrie Lynn (1966) Cathleen Renee (1968) and Candace Rae (1976).
In her early adult years, Carlene was a housewife and mother. In her 30’s she worked in the registrar’s office of Calumet College. In 1989, she became a Flight Attendant with Northwest Airlines, transitioned to Delta Airlines, and retired from Delta in 2010.She loved spending time with her family, usually playing cards, traveling both locally and abroad, spent many weekends camping or at the beach, and enjoyed baking her family’s favorites for celebrations.
She lived in Whiting, Indiana all of her adult life and relocated to St. James Manor & Villas in nearby Crete, Illinois in August of 2022 where she passed peacefully in her sleep on April 24, 2024. Her husband preceded her in death (1980). She is survived by her daughters, her beloved granddaughter Carli Lin (Griffin) Smith (Evans) as well as her brother Gail (Sandie) her brother-in-law James (Lelynna) Langdoc, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment of Urn service will be held on May 25, 2024 at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana at 11:00 a.m., with a Memorial & Celebration of Life Open House from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Castle Hill Funeral Home in Calumet City.
