Shirley Maxine Williams (Glass)

Shirley Maxine (Glass) Williams was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Suddenly her life ended abruptly and she left to be with the Lord on February 4th, 2021 at the age of 74.

Shirley was born to William (Bill) Glass and Irene (Glass) Peterson on September 14, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended school in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly thereafter, she entered into matrimony and had 6 children; Randy Glass, Irene Glass-Savoy, Michelle Glass-Berry, Darnell Williams, Carleton Riley, and William Rollins.

Shirley’s career started out at an early age, she found her true passion in truck driving, traveling back and forth across the united states. Even though her work required her to be gone for days or even weeks at a time, she always made it to every special occasion or milestones celebrating her family's accomplishments. Shirley loved outings such as traveling, fishing, picnics, and dining out. During her quiet times she enjoyed old movies like westerns and old classic movies.

Shirley is survived by her siblings Ticina Glass, Sheila Mays, Bobbette Rateree and Griel (Duke) Broughton. Her grandchildren Tamica Glass, Taileia Glass, Crystal Langston, Keshia Glass, Natasha Savoy-Ming, Lewis J Leonard, Tameka Burks, Eric Vonzell Gilbert III, Christy Leonard, Jesiah Willams, Audrianna Williams, Natalie Williams, Trejon Riley, Javon Riley, Briana Riley, Allayah Rollins, Aniyah Rollins and Cameden Rollins.

Shirley was a social butterfly and was loved by many. Her smile was infectious and her laugh was contagious. She was a beautiful spirit and the world will be dimmer without her. We pray she found peace upon her new journey and vow to keep her light shining brightly. 

Shirley, you will forever remain in the hearts of many, and may eternal love always be felt.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer Indiana 46311 with a visitation from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m.
