Sharon Marie Swalina (née Casey), 83, of Beecher, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on November 21, 1942, Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, foster parent, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by love, compassion, and her unwavering dedication to children.

On November 3rd, she and her husband, Wayne Martin Swalina, celebrated 57 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of David Martin Svalina (Giedre), Steven David Swalina (Monica), Shay Marie Swalina (fiancé Sean Scarborough), and Sara Anne Kelly (Steve).

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, her children, and her cherished grandchildren: Megan Virosztko, Melissa (Joel) Kroon, Ava, Kayla, Cierra, and Brianne Swalina, Aidan Settlemires, Addison Scarborough, Liam Bischof, Emma, Henry, Adeline, Evelyn, and Lucy Kelly. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren: Lucas and Silas Virosztko, and Avery and Olivia Kroon.

Sharon spent over 40 years as a foster parent, opening her heart and home to countless children. She loved traveling with her family and especially cherished capturing these memories, rarely seen without a camera or camcorder in her hand.

Sharon also enjoyed visiting the casino, and just days before her passing, she delighted in winning $900, a moment that perfectly reflected her joyful spark and love of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Casey (née Bresnahan); her brothers John Casey and Brian Casey; and her sisters-in-law Arlene and Kathy Casey. She is survived by her brothers William Casey Jr. and Kevin (Gail) Casey.

Sharon will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of children, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.
