Rory "RJ" Jurgenson, 33, of Park Forest, IL passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024.

He was born October 30, 1991 in Olympia Fields, IL, the son of Rory Jurgenson Sr. and Lisa Rogers-Jurgenson.

Rory grew up in Park Forest and graduated from Rich East High School in 2010.  While in high school he played football and baseball. In 2016 RJ graduated with a business degree from Robert Morris University where he played lacrosse.

Following graduation he fulfilled a lifelong dream and entered a career in EMS.  With great dedication he served the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana region as an EMT for nearly a decade.

In addition to his career in public service, he took great joy in participating with various organizations such as Toys for Tots and veterans groups.  He also was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to fish, hike, camp, and kayak.  One of his favorite things was to barbecue for his loved ones; he was even given the nickname "Barbeque Bobby."  And in his busy schedule, he even found time to enjoy reading.

He is survived by his mother Lisa Marie Rogers-Jurgenson, his father Rory W. and stepmother Laura Jurgenson and his sister Mazi (Steven "bro") Jurgenson.  Rory also had a host of aunts and uncles:  Lynnda Rogers (Stu), Christina Rogers,  William "Matthew" Howard, Ruthann (Roger) Conner, Tina (Chuck) Olson, Richard (Dee) Jurgenson, Mike (Amy) Jurgenson, Lisa Jurgenson, Amy (Paul) Wilk. He also leaves behind 22 first cousins and a large number of loving extended family and friends.

Although there are many, many much loved relatives who proceeded Rory in death,  particularly precious to him were his two grandmothers Angie "Grammy" Howard, Alice "Grandma" Jurgenson and his grandfather Tony "Grandpa" Rogers.

Rory's greatest joy on earth was being a dad.  He sadly leaves behind three beautiful daughters: Aliyah Louise Conway, 13, Ava Juliana April, 10, and Aria Quinn Jurgenson 4.
