Robert Joseph Seifert “Bob”, age 69, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his daughters, on March 5, 2025. He was born on October 19, 1955, in Hammond, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Marie Seifert (Kitchell) whom he married on February 17, 1974; and his parents, Robert and Leona Seifert. Robert is survived by his children: Dawn (Will) Geeve and Dana (George) Bell, and grandchildren Jacan (Heather) Geeve, Morgan (Derek) Kaluf, Kylee (Nick) Geeve, Chloe Geeve, Aubrey Geeve, Ashley Bell, and Jolyne Bell. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers, David and Donald (Sue) Seifert, three sisters, Grace (Bob) Schultz, Judy (Tom) Mathewson, and Sherry (Ray) LeMasters, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and three great-grandchildren.

Bob graduated high school from Hammond Tech in 1973. He then began working as a Signal Maintainer for the IHB Railroad, retiring after 44 years on January 5, 2017.  Bob was extremely dedicated to his wife and loved his family.  He was very quick witted and enjoyed to laugh. He was a big fan of both telling and listening to a good joke. Bob enjoyed activities such as hunting, playing softball, video games, and bowling. He spent numerous hours fishing, casting for bass, blue gill, and crappie. Like a true fisherman, Bob often talked about the one that got away. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on March 15, 2025 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer, Indiana 46311. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories beginning at 11AM. There will be a short service following the visitation, officiated by Reverend Andrew Cummins, at 1:00 PM.
