Richard "Rick" Joseph Crowley, age 67, of Beecher, IL, formerly of Calumet City, IL passed away peacefully, in the loving care of his family on Wednesday, September 04, 2024. Rick leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his family. Born on December 11, 1956, Rick lived a life always prioritizing the well-being of those he cherished.

Rick was the beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" Crowley (née Connelly), with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, after they wed on September 16, 1978. Together, they built a close-knit family that brought them great joy and fulfillment.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons: Richard John (Mary Schneider) Crowley and Michael John Crowley, as well as his cherished grandchildren: John "Jack" Crowley and Brigid Crowley. Rick’s love and wisdom left an indelible mark on the lives of his family, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength for them. In addition to his immediate family, Rick leaves behind many extended family members, all of whom will miss him dearly.

In his free time, Rick found joy in cooking, especially hosting his famous Papa’s Pizza Night, where he delighted family and friends with his culinary skills. His passion for gardening led to a yearly tradition of salsa making, using fresh ingredients from his own garden. Rick also loved playing cards with his family, creating fun-filled evenings and lasting memories. Rick cherished his time outdoors, whether fishing with his grandson Jack or hiking with his granddaughter Brigid, making the most of the moments spent with his loved ones.

Rick will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his sense of humor, and his warm heart. His presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Family & Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 at Castle Hill Funeral Home at 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer Indiana. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Rick’s memory.
