Phyllis T. Porwit (nee Jamrock)

Phyllis T. Porwit (nee Jamrock): Born on February 12, 1928 Chicago, Illinois to John and Sophie Jamrock passed away October 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph F. and son Robert J.. Phyllis is survived by her children: Kenneth J. Porwit and Terese R. Porwit, grandchildren: Sarah Hardison (Steve), Kyle Porwit, and great grandchild: Brooklynn. She also had many friends who will miss her deeply.

Phyllis and Joseph raised their family in the home they both build with love in Calumet City Illinois. Phyllis helped her community in many ways: started the Meals on Wheels and did Volunteer work in her area. She enjoyed the outdoors like camping, fishing and boating with her family. Phyllis was a long time member of the Griffith Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (a conservation and education club).

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. from Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City IL 60409 to St. Andrew the Apostle Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed by Interment Services at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 8:45 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
