Phyllis M. Ulanski nee Klekot (77) of Calumet City, IL, passed away February 6, 2024. 

Daughter of the late Phillip and Corinne (nee Zarowny) Klekot and sister of the late Judith Steinbeck, she was married to her late husband, Gerald, for 56 years.  She is survived by her cherished children Kim (Tom) Maksimik; Tracey Ulanski; and David (Josh) Aschcroft-Ulanski; her beloved granddaughter, Madison Olms; and her dearest friends, Marsha Benedek and Patty Camfield.

A life-long resident of Calumet City, IL, she recently moved to Glendale, AZ with her son and son-in-law.  She attended St. Andrew the Apostle Elementary School and Thornton Fractional North High School, where she twirled baton.  She was devoted to her family, friends and neighbors.  As her children got older, she worked in the cafeteria at T.F. North (affectionately known to many as “The Candy Lady”).  She later worked as a photo technician at Walgreens, from where she retired after 25 years.
