PERCY BROWN, JR. WAS BORN ON MAY 2, 1966 IN CHICAGO, IL. PERCY WAS BORN THE FIFTH OF EIGHT CHILDREN TO PERCY BROWN, Sr. WHO PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH, AND JESSIE M. EDWARDS OF CHICAGO, IL.

PERCY ACCEPTED THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS HIS PERSONAL SAVIOR AND ATTENDED HAVEN OF REST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN CHICAGO, IL UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE LATE PASTOR GEORGE M. BUTLER.

PERCY BEGAN HIS EDUCATION AS A STUDENT IN THE CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. UPON ATTENDING SOUTH SHORE HIGH SCHOOL, PERCY DISCOVERED SKILLS THAT PROPELLED HIM TO BECOME AN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS. UPON GRADUATION PERCY ENTERED THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE UNTIL BEING HONORABLY DISCHARGED.

PERCY CALLED “MAINEY” WAS KIND, LOVING AND ADMIRED BY ALL. HE HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. HE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO GIVE A HELPING HAND TO THOSE IN NEED WITH A BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE. WHEN PERCY WAS NOT WORKING OR LENDING A HELPING HAND; HE WAS DRIVING CARS FROM STATE TO STATE ONE OF THE MANY ADVENTURES HE ENJOYED. PERCY WILL BE MOST REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM FOR HIS CHARSIMATIC PERSONALITY AND CHARMING SMILE.

ON THE MORNING OF MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2021 PERCY MADE A PEACEFUL TRANSITION FROM THIS LIFE. HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS LOVING MEMORIES: HIS MOTHER: JESSIE M. EDWARDS; THREE BROTHERS: DARREN J. GUNTER (JACQUELINE); JEFFERY D. BROWN, Sr.; TERRY BROWN, WHO PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH; FIVE SISTERS: KATHLEEN HARRIS (MICHAEL); SHARON D. EDWARDS; TINA M. EDWARDS; LOLA A. EDWARDS; SHAWANDA SCOTT. HIS MEMORIES WILL ALWAYS BE CHERISHED BY HIS UNCLES, AUNTS, NEPHEWS, NIECE, COUSINS AND OTHER RELATIVES.
