Michael Wayne Barber was born to Wilbur and Alma (née Felton) Barber on June 27, 1953.

Michael Wayne was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and departed this life on March 11, 2024. He accepted Christ at an early age. Michael also served in the United States Army during Vietnam, receiving an Honorable Discharge.

Michael married Arletta Peterson in 2011.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Brandi, Michael, Christopher (Lisa), Mercedes, Marquis, Mikhal, Alexis, Aaron, Bri, Marcelis, bonus daughter Chestavia; 21 grandchildren; big brother Jackie O’Neal Barber; nieces: Jacqueline, Renee and Zaria; nephew Curtis; special cousins Gwen and Doris; and a host of family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois 60409 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by 12:30 p.m. Interment Services with Military Honors directly at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery: 20953 W Hoff Road, Elwood, Illinois 60421.
