In Loving Memory of Marylou J. Crowley
August 5, 1941 – April 2, 2026
Marylou J. Crowley, age 84, of Munster, Indiana, formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 2, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Born on August 5, 1941, Marylou was a woman of integrity, faith, and profound loyalty. She retired from the U.S. Government after a distinguished career as an IRS auditor, where her sharp mind and dedication were highly respected by her colleagues.
Marylou’s heart, however, belonged to her loved ones and community. A cornerstone of the First Presbyterian Church for over 70 years, Marylou was a deeply active member who found great purpose in her church family. Her faith was a way of life shown through her decades of service and fellowship. Throughout her life, Marylou taught us all the importance of kindness, hard work, and exceptional resilience in overcoming serious health challenges. She was at her happiest when spending time with her family, whether she was meticulously working on a jigsaw puzzle, enjoying a day out at the Ameristar Casino, or simply sharing stories with her many loved ones.
Marylou is survived by her dedicated sister, Patricia Guiden, and her many beloved nieces, nephews, and multiple generations of great and great-great-nieces and nephews, extended familyand her church community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Florence Crowley (née Jacobson), and her siblings: Jerome Crowley, Lester Crowley, Delores Potter, Edwin Crowley, and Daniel Crowley. and beloved pets, Heidi, Molly, and Xena
Marylou’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her Family/Friends.
