Mary Bethanne Prskalo (née Huntley) “MeMe” “Big Mare”

Mary Bethanne Prskalo, age 65, of Hammond, Indiana passed away at her home on March 25, 2026. She was born to Leroy Huntley and Mary Ann Missinio (nee Messenich) on May 18, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana.

Mary is survived by her beloved children: Bonni, Kyle (Nicole) and Natalie Prskalo; adored grandchildren: Ernie, Braydon, Skyler and Kody; former spouse Edward; dear siblings: Deborah, Deirdre, Leroy, Nikki, Holly and Dawn; numerous cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Anthony Huntley.

Mary was the rock to so many, with shoulders far broader than her small stature ever suggested. She made herself available to anyone in need, no matter what she was facing in her own life and was known by all for putting others before herself. Affectionately known as MeMe and Big Mare, she dedicated her life to bringing happiness and joy to those around her, always doing so with a wink and a smile. She was the true definition of selfless, a beautiful soul who loved deeply and protected her own with fierce devotion.

Mary will be remembered for her bright blue eyes, her gentle and caring touch, and the warmth she brought into every room. She never met a jukebox she didn’t like and could turn any open space into a dance floor. She found peace in the sunshine, and the beaches of California held a special place in her heart. She loved the music of Neil Young, long bicycle rides, and everything Marilyn Monroe, finding joy in her timeless glamour and spirit. Mary left an undeniable mark on this world, bold, beautiful, and full of life.

Above all, her greatest legacy will always be the love she gave and the many people who knew her as a mother in every sense of the word.
