Margaret “Peggy” Mae Bugajski, age 76, formerly of Calumet City, IL and of Beecher, IL, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. She is survived by her three children, daughter Jill E. (Trent) Bugajski of Chicago, son Mark V. (Jeanine) Bugajski of Beecher, and son Michael P. Bugajski of Chicago; and her brother Allan Zapalski. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Peter J. Bugajski, beloved daughter-in-law Jeanine M. Wuellner and granddaughter Alexandria Ivy, and her sister Diane Corr.
Margaret was born in Chicago on June 4, 1948 to Eugene and Helen (née Zapalski) Smolinski, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago and a lifelong supporter of the Girl Scouts and the public library network. She served as a librarian at the Dolton Public Library and enjoyed countless hours applying her master gardener certification to cultivate plants and flowers.
Funeral Services will be Friday, November 1, 2024 with a visitation at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois 60409 from 9:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Knock Catholic Church.
Margaret will be privately laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with her husband, Peter.
