Lori Ann Payne, 52, of Hammond, Indiana, tragically left us on Friday, May 10, 2024, after a sudden and unexpected battle with heart disease. 

Lori was born on September 5, 1971, to Donald and Mary Ann Payne in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter Jesslyn Grube (née Truesdale), her son Mark Layne Jr., and her fur baby Charlie.  

Lori could be described best as a firecracker with strong opinions, which she regularly made known. She didn't mince words or sugarcoat what she had to say, which was just one of the many things people will lovingly remember about her. Most importantly, Lori was a supportive family member and friend who was quick to lend a hand to help someone in need. 

Lori will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherished her. 

To honor Lori's memory, her family will be hosting a private gathering to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana to honor her memory and love of animals.
