Loretta Ann (Stosur) Kempa, age 95, of Crown Point, IN. Formerly of Winter Haven, FL and Harvey, IL passed away peacefully on her birthday, May 30, 2025 surrounded by loving family. Loretta was born on May 30, 1930 to Bruno and Charlotte Stosur in Chicago, IL.

She was the oldest of five siblings and was lovingly referred to as the Queen Mother.  In 1951, she married her husband, Edward Kempa and they had two children that they raised in Harvey, IL.

Loretta worked many years as the school secretary of St. John the Baptist grade school, a job that she absolutely loved.  She later retired as personnel manager of Harris Hub.  She enjoyed her retirement in Winter Haven, FL for 17 years with many dear friends before moving back to Indiana to be closer to family.

She brought a little sparkle to everywhere she went.  Loretta loved to laugh and have fun, sing, play cards.  She enjoyed traveling and going to the movies.  She enjoyed bingo and bible study with her good friends at Bickford assisted living.  Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family.

Loretta's love, strength, and grace touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno & Charlotte Stosur husband, Edward Kempa, sisters, Marie Kukalis and Margaret Michel, brother, Edward Stosur, daughter-in-law, Dorothy Kempa

Loretta is survived by her son, Lawrence Kempa, daughter, Susan (Scott) Glauner, grand daughter, Theresa (Roger) Holder, great grand children, Sarah and Landen Holder, great-great grand daughter, Amelia Porter, sister, Violet Guinzio, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 10, 2025 directly at the Carmelite Monastery: 1628 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana 46321 with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment Services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois.
