Leticia Ruiz Velasquez, age 73, of Hammond, Indiana passed away January 6, 2023. She was born to Juan and Mercedes (nee De La Torre) Velasquez on July 19, 1949 in Tototlán, State of Jalisco, Mexico. Leticia is survived by her children: Jose (Deanna) Ruiz, Claudia (Pompeyo) Ruiz, Xochitl Ruiz (fiance Javier), Ivan (Karina) Ruiz; Grandchildren: Lydia, Adrian, Julian, Magdalena, Marco, Miklo, Anthony, Xitlaly, Joshua, Aylin, Dorian, Samantha, Sarah and Leo; Siblings: Rafael Velasquez, Jesus Velasquez, Consuelo Velasquez and Guadalupe Velasquez.
Family and friends may gather Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (3200 E 91st Street, Chicago, IL 60617) for a Memorial Mass to celebrate Leticia's life.
Leticia was a warm, empathetic and strong women who was loved by everyone. She came to this country to give her family a better life and dedicated her life to her children. She was a loteria afficiando. May she rest in peace.
