Leona (Wiltjer) Wakulich, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother has sadly passed away on January 29th 2020 at the age of 83.
Leona is survived by her husband; Robert Wakulich; her children Robert H Norton, Angel (Norton) Stevens, and Beverly Norton; her grandchildren Angela (DeJesus) Clark, Chantal (DeJesus) Sweeney, and Jeremy DeJesus; her great-grandchildren Autumn Clark, Myles Clark, Odin DeJesus, Orion DeJesus, Stevie Sweeney, and Jolene Sweeney; her brothers Paul Wiltjer and Robert Wiltjer. She is predeceased by her parents; John Wiltjer Sr. and Jennie (Jabaay) Wiltjer, her brothers and sisters; Katherine (Wiltjer) Ritsema, Grace (Wiltjer) Rachau, Lucille (Wiltjer) Steinke, Annabelle (Wiltjer) Roberson, Jeanette (Wiltjer) Nagel, Marion (Wiltjer) VanDreel, William Wiltjer, Leroy Wiltjer, and John Wiltjer Jr.
Leona was born in Illinois to John and Jennie Wiltjer on April 2nd, 1936. Leona was always family oriented. She always said, “we gotta stick together.” One thing she probably loved the most in life was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Other things she enjoyed were hanging out with her siblings, watching soap operas, eating at restaurants, shopping, and all things Dutch.
Leona’s viewing will be on Monday, February 10th, at 10am at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Ave, Dyer, IN 46311. Immediately following the viewing will be her burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery: 1958 Thornton Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438.
