Lawrence George Roethler Sr., age 75, of Lake Station, Indiana passed away November 1, 2023 at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born to Reynold and Laverne (nee Zaloubek) Roethler on November 19, 1947 in Chicago Illinois and grew up in Lansing, Illinois where he attended Catholic School at St. Ann’s and later graduated from T.F South. He honorably served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and upon honorable discharge was accepted into West Point. Lawrence decided to dedicate the next 56 years to pipe fitters local 597 as a top welder and pipe fitter. He is recognized as an avid lover of beautiful classic muscle cars, fast horses, baseball and a gypsy at heart who loved to travel. He was a spiritual and religious man that loved and devoted his life to his family. His character and generosity was immeasurable. He will be greatly missed.
Lawrence is survived by his brother Richard Roethler, daughter Wendy Osterkamp (Manuel Osterkamp); daughter Amy Aliaga (Mike Aliaga); son and best lil buddy Lawrence Roethler Jr.; grandchildren: Joseph Roethler, David Ostekamp, Dylan Osterkamp, Jessica Rosinski, Jacob Bates, Joshua Bates, Marissa Bates; great-grandchildren: Alina and Ysabella Bates and baby boy Ostekamp on the way; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom loved, respected and adored him. Lawrence is preceded in death by father and mother Reynold and Laverne Roethler; brothers Reynold, David, and Wayne Roethler; nephews Joe and Wayne Roethler; his ex wives Patricia, Dawn, and Pamela; and great-grandson Corey Bates.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, November 19, 2023 Memorial Services for Lawrence will be held at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue Dyer, Indiana from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a dinner in celebration of his life at the American Legion: 5675 Mulberry Ave. Portage Indiana 46368 from 4-8 pm (large hall).
