Kathleen "Cathy" M. Peterson, age 83, formerly of Lansing, Illinois and Hamilton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.

Beloved wife of David "Dave" Peterson for 53 years, who preceded her in death, also on April 9th, in the year 2011.

Cathy was also preceded in death by her father Joseph Liss, mother Selma (nee-Sekluwski) Liss, sister Theresa (nee-Liss) Schroen.

Cathy is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Louise (nee-Liss) and Wayne Syler.

Cherished mother of Donald (Caryl), Daniel (Moira), Karen Goodenow (nee-Peterson)(Richard III), Michael (Gail), David Jr. (Dana).

Proud grandmother of 12; Cori (nee-Peterson) Frederick, Donald Peterson Jr., Christine Peterson (Mike Young), Melissa Peterson, Mike (Kelly) Peterson, Tim Peterson, Joe Peterson, David Peterson III, Robert (Brittany) Peterson, Nick Peterson, Kati (nee-Goodenow) Clemons (Matt), Emily Goodenow.

She was also blessed with 15 loving great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cathy was an excellent cook, never needing a recipe. Her Polish dishes and desserts were extra special. She loved flowers and plants and had an amazing " green thumb". She also loved her dogs, cats and birds throughout her life. She was a Catechism teacher at the church they attended and also a PTA mom at their school. She loved having fun while gathering with her family and friends. She could always make you laugh. She was voted "Paczki Queen" while attending elementary school.

Upon honoring Cathy’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services.
