Katherine Ann Stevens

Katherine Ann Stevens, 68 years of age and a Calumet City home owner since 1991, died in her sleep at home on June 01, 2021 after many years of declining health.

Kathy was born on February 03, 1953 to Mildren and Ernie Stevens in Chicago.  Kathy graduated from "Chicago Vocational High School" in 1971.  After graduating high school Kathy worked for "Marsh and McCeLennan" as an "Administrative Assistant" while attending college at night.  Kathy attended the "Milwaukee School of Engineering" where she discovered a love of math and science.  Kathy pursued her goal for a college degree and Graduated from the "Illinois Institute of Technology" with a degree in "Chemical Engineering" in 1991.  After graduation Kathy worked for "Peoples Energy" in multiple supervisory positions and retired as a 'Senior Engineer" in 2010.

Kathy was active in "La Societe De Femme".  Kathy was a founding member of the "Companions" in 1991, which was one of the first "on-line" computer guilds.  Kathy never missed a  Companions "Beast Roast" at the yearly gathering of guild members in Cincinnati OH.  Kathy was an avid pool player who played in the American Pool Players (APA) prior to 2006, and then the Women's pool league out of Midlothian.  Kathy also played in  the "Straight Pool Handicapped" league at Red Shoes Billiards in Alsip.  Kathy had multiple hobbies including scroll sawing, wood burning, crocheet, Caribbean cruising, fishing and camping.

Kathy is survived by her significant other of 24 years and best friend for 37 years Kevin Deane, her son Karl Vesecky and his new wife Jessica, granddaughters McKenna and Jade, her Mother Mildred (Father Ernie passed in 2019) and brother Ernie.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday June 27, 2021  from 10:00am until 1:00pm at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248-155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois 60409.
