Joseph E. Rush Jr., age 79, of Dyer Indiana, passed away December 11th, 2025.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne; son, Glenn (Tonya) Rush; daughter, Shannon Rush; son, Chris (Chrissy) Rush; son, Brian (Jillian) Rush; son, James Rush; brother, John (Diane) Rush.  Grandkids: Madison, Joe, Lailah, Jaxon, and Colton.  Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Irene and his brother James Rush.

Joe worked very hard providing for his family, retiring from Symons Corporation.  He then used his time helping take care of his grandchildren as they grew up.  Joe was always partial to the family pets, who loved to cozy up to him wherever he would sit.  He always enjoyed a family outing or a day spent watching the grandkids.  You could depend on him to be a face in the crowd cheering for his children and then grandchildren watching them play sports.  Joe loved his family, especially Dianne.  He often told stories of his own childhood and college days back in Kentucky and of his days riding his motorcycle with his brother Jimmy.

Joe was an avid lover of music.  He enjoyed going to concerts, which was a hobby he shared with his children.  He enjoyed all sorts of music, movies, and T.V. shows--The 3 Stooges being one of his favorites.  He was always up for a movie and some popcorn.  His memory was full of trivia knowledge. He enjoyed working on a good crossword puzzle.  Joe spent many hours in the tattoo chair getting new ink done.  

A celebration of life will be held January 10, 2026 for immediate family.
