Jean Heresz, 84, of Hobart, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born to the late David and Ruth McColley in May, 1937.
Jean grew up in Gary, Indiana, graduated from Calumet High School, and later married John R. Heresz in September, 1956. They were married for 61 years. Her husband, John, precedes her in death.
Jean was a wife and homemaker in Gary for over 40 years before moving to Hobart. She was very supportive of her family’s activities, concerts and sporting events, attending many games and events over the years. Jean also loved listening to music, playing scrabble, and gathering with friends and family. She was a long standing member of Living Hope Church in Merrillville,
Jean is survived by her two children, Sonya (Dairrell) Ham of Valparaiso, and John (Marna) Heresz of Texas; her brother David (Pat) McColley and her sister Peggy (Jay) Flinders; 3 grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives and close friends.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days and for the loving support of family and friends during that time.
Visitation with family will be from 10:00 am. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. to be held at Living Hope Church, 9000 Taft Street, Merrillville IN. A luncheon for family and friends will immediately follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund at the Living Hope Church.
