Irene Engels, late of Schererville, formerly Beecher and Harvey Illinois passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, two days before her 89th birthday. Irene is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Kenneth) Johnson, son Theodore (Barbara) Engels, grandchildren Theodore John TJ (Heather) Engels, Rachel (Justin) Foust, Cassidy Engels, Anna (Simon) North, Taze (Linzie) Engels, Kristen (Ryan) Stolzenbach, Keith Johnson, and great grandchildren Greyson Stolzenbach, Viktor Stolzenbach, Daniel Engels, Jude Engels,. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Florence (Carlson) Mazur, sisters Jeanette (Robert) Jones and Lucille (Lawton) Lamb and her husband Theodore Engels.
Irene retired from Hume, Clement, Brink, Willian & Olds, Ltd in 1994. She was a secretary and administrative assistant for these trademark and patent attorneys in Chicago. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and caring for her pets Kitsy, Scarface, Sally and Kirby. Services for Irene were private.
