Gerald Wayne Hunter, age 83, of Lansing, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Munster, Indiana.

Gerald was born on September 4, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Eugene and Juanita Hunter. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Hunter (née Redell); his brother, Kenneth Hunter; his uncle, Peter (Mildred) Peneva; and his son-in-law, David Trombetta.

Gerald is survived by his loving children: Brandon (Brenda) Hunter, Kimberly (late David) Trombetta, and Jerry (Alana) Hunter; his three cherished granddaughters; his roommate and close friend, Michael Staszak; along with other relatives and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Hill Funeral Home of Dyer, Indiana.
