Elizabeth "Liz" Alfaro Obituary

In the presence of love, Elizabeth "Liz" Alfaro, of Lowell, Indiana, peacefully entered into eternal life on September 3, 2025, at the age of 60.

Elizabeth grew up in East Chicago, surrounded by her Granny, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She later moved to the Minneapolis area for many years, near more extended family.  Most recently,  Elizabeth was blessed to be with her Baiz/Garcia family after returning home to Indiana.

Affectionately known as Liz, she was quick to use her bubbly, outgoing personality to share humor and spread laughter with everyone she encountered.  Liz was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lowell and actively gave her time volunteering for community events.  While she had great love for all of her "fam" and "peeps", Liz also had a huge heart for animals and spoiled them whenever possible.  No matter where she called home, Liz remained a devoted fan to her Chicago Bears, and rarely missed watching a game.

Upon her passing, Liz is now reunited with her mother, Carmen Vela and grandmother, Regina Alfaro, along with her aunts, uncles, several cousins, and her beloved Margaret and dog, Mia.

She is survived by her brother, Eliazar (Tami) Alfaro; niece, Karisa (Todd) Williams; nephew, Ryan (Stephanie) Alfaro; her loved ones, Roderick, Esperanza, Teya, and DeVaughn Baiz; and Sara and Delores Garcia.  Liz is further survived by her step-nieces, Nicole and Megan; great-nieces, Matilda and Isla; great-nephew, Matthew; and numerous cousins.

Liz will always be remembered for her kind spirit, unique charm, and living each day to the fullest.  She was loved deeply and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

The family will be honoring Liz's life on Monday, September, 22, 2025 at ST. EDWARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 216 S Nichols St, Lowell, IN 46356 with a mass at 10 AM.  Interment at ST. JOHN - ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 1547 167th Street, Hammond, IN 46356 at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the NATIONAL OVARIAN CANCER COALITION, 12221 Merit Drive #1950, Dallas, TX 75251 would be appreciated.  Online donations can be made at www.Ovarian.org
