Edna, 92, died unexpectedly January 14, 2020, at Dyer Rehabilitation Center. She felt blessed and humbled to be born on December 25, 1927, in Puerto Rico, to Pedro and Isabel Arroyo.
She graduated from high school in 1945, and on December 30, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Regina Egipciaco. They were inseparable during their 56 years of marriage, until his passing on January 12, 2005. She had a strong Catholic faith and you could catch her praying the rosary every morning and evening; and throughout the years actively participating in parish activities.
In addition to her parents, she was pride eased by her brother Pablo. She has a devoted brother, Jose, who currently resides in Florida. She was blessed with two children later in life, (her little miracles is how she referred to them) and was totally dedicated to them, Alba Quiroga, and Regino Egipciaco Jr. (wife Andrea). She left her job at St. Mercy’s Hospital to become a full-time stay at home mom when she learned she was expecting. She loved children and lived for the laughs and love that her 4 grandchildren gave her; Chris Quiroga, Lauren Quiroga, Jillian Matczk and husband Joe (great grandchild Tenzin), Kelsey Mathis and husband Sean (great grandchildren Sabrina and Jude) and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Her deep love for her family, godchildren, and friends extended to the pets she took in on a regular basis. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and made certain no one left her home unfed. She was fiercely protective, loyal, humble and selfless - she was loved by everyone and will be missed.
An intimate service for the immediate family will be held on January 18, 2020 at Castle Hill Funeral Home in Dyer, Indiana.
