August 10, 1942 ~ July 29, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Obituary

Our beloved Mother, Dolores Kozora, 80, a long-time resident of Lowell, passed away with her two children beside her on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Dolores Lencki “De” as everyone knew her by, was born during WW II on August 10, 1942, in Chicago. She grew up with her two best friends, Charlotte and Barbara Chmielewski, on the south side of Chicago, and graduated from Chicago Vocational H.S. in 1960. De (Mom) then married Andrew Kozora in 1961 and gave birth to Michael in 1962, Heather in 1965, and Craig in 1966...all five were born in the same hospital (South Chicago Community Hospital). She did an incredible job as a mother and homemaker up until she divorced Andy and then lost Michael to Leukemia in the early 80s. With two teenagers to take care of, De got a job, went to school, and graduated as a Respiratory Therapist which she would retire from, after over 30 years, in 2015. Always fun to be around, De loved camping with friends and family, Bunco (First in the 70s. Then, started a Bunco club with her neighborhood Friends), and her infamous "UN-TALENT CONTEST"

Dolores was preceded in death by her Son Micheal Kozora, Brother Lawrence Lencki, Parents Jennie Kmak and Henry Lencki, Grandmother Busia and Grandfather Jaja, Nephew Paul Farrar and Best Friend Grace Gottschalk. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather, and Joe, and son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Rose her adopted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of the nieces and nephews: Melissa, Randy, Kimberly, Russell, Elizabeth, Andrew and Amanda, and countless great nieces and nephews also great, great nieces and nephews... whom she loved dearly, and an untold amount of friends and co-workers who she cherished. Now, she is reunited in heaven with her lost friends, aunts, and uncles, her Busia, her brother Larry, her mother, and her most precious one of all, her son, Michael.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer, Indiana 46311 with a visitation from 3-7 p.m.
