David E. Ramberg “Bear”, age 69, life-long resident of Hammond IN passed away November 24, 2020.
He is survived by his former spouse and best friend Shawnacy (Jerry) Yager; his beautiful silver lab “Hannah” that is in the loving care of Angie and Paul; nieces: Lorraine, Nancy, Linda and Helen; many friends, extended family and loving caregivers. He was proceeded in death by his Mother Ethel Ramberg and Father Paulus Ramberg; Sisters: Patsy, Barbara and Shirley; former Father-in-law Ronald Smolinski and Mother-in-law Judith Smolinski.
David graduated from Hammond Tech Vocational High School and was on the football team #51. He retired from LTV Steel with 30 years of service and was a former member of the Brotherhood.
David was a force to be reckoned with in his younger days. But as he aged, he mellowed and became the voice of reason for people struggling with various situations. He always took the time to listen. He was a dedicated friend and loyal to the bone. He loved History, Jeopardy, dirt track racing, cooking, duck hunting, the Chicago Cubs and Bears and planting his garden.He shared his harvest with all of his neighbors every year. He enjoyed traveling and driving cross country to see family and friends. He took great pride in visiting the White House. He was a proud American. He will be deeply missed by everyone that new him.
