David B. Strietelmeier, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on June 1, 1962 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois, he was raised in Park Forest, Illinois, where he developed the hardworking spirit and energy that defined his life.

David was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, serving as a warehouse supervisor during his career. Outside of work, he embraced life fully-whether tending to his perfectly kept lawn, riding bicycles, participating in sports, cheering on his Chicago teams (and firmly believing Michael Jordan is the GOAT) or spending time with animals, especially his beloved cat, Oliver.

He will be remembered for the unmistakable swagger in his step, his unique style, and the pride he took in his appearance. He stayed fit, with a bright white smile, full head of hair, and the positivity he carried with him each day. David faced congestive heart failure with courage and determination, making the most of every moment.

He is survived by his children, Megan and David Strietelmeier; his cherished grandchildren, Ava and Jaiden Kelley, Kaylie Strietelmeier, Tyler Bolden, Jasmin, Derek and Jalen Strietelmeier; and his loving companion Andria Bauer. He is also survived by his mother, Judith J. Strietelmeier (née Bazler); his six sisters, Kelly A. Strietelmeier, Susan L. Strietelmeier, Cindy J. Hughes, Stephanie K. Strietelmeier, Lesley L. Strietelmeier and Amy D. Woods; his lifelong "brothers," David Jach, Alan Stock and Doug Hoff; his former wife, Diane Strietelmeier; his stepdaughters, Alexandria and Stormie Tyler; his godchild Kevin Durnavich; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, David M. Stretelmeier, and his granddaughter Grace Kelley.

As his final loving gesture, David chose to donate to Gift of Hope.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
