Danny Najera, 67, of Hammond Indiana, has peacefully passed away in his home August 12, 2025 after a long battle with sickness. He was born to Nicholas and Mary (nee Almendrez) Najera on March 15, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, where he was a life long resident.

Danny grew up in bush nation, where he met his wife and had a family of all girls.

Danny developed a strong work ethic, and a deep passion for working on cars and being an handyman for many things, Until he moved to East Chicago to live with his sister Helen Augilar. After years he gotten worse and moved in with his daughter Melinda, where she nurtured and cared for him.

Danny was the life of the party. He was ready for jokes and any occasion. He loved grilling out and spending time with his daughters and grandkids. Danny has 16 grandchildren, counting 9 boys and 6 girls. He loved dearly. If Danny ever made you laugh, or gave you a helping hand, or other wise brightened your day we ask that you take a moment to pray for him as he is on his journey. The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported us during this time of loss.

For the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone apart of us went with you dad, the day god called you home. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love could have saved you, you would have never died. May the lord be with you and may you rest in peace poppa without pain and suffering. Until we meet again dad.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Teresa Najera, his four daughters: Melissa, Melinda, Minerva, Mariah and 16 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings and mother.

Funeral services to celebrate Danny Najera's life will be held at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois 60409 on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
