Christel Rosemarie Kaethe Simmering, age 91, of Calumet City, Illinois passed away February 1, 2026 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born to Karl and Magdalena (nee Kuhn) Heinze on December 26, 1934 in Berlin, Germany.

Christel was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; and is survived by her children: Connie (Craig), David (Alma) and Nancy; grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian), Kristin (Jimmy) and Abigail; great-grandchildren: Madelynn and Cameron.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, Illinois with a visitation at 11:00 a.m.  and a service at 12:00 noon. Interment Services will follow at Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, Illinois.
