Robert Olson, age 80, of Munster, Indiana, passed away September 27, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia "Pat" (nee Sullivan); loving and cherished daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Robert Netz; adored grandchildren: Trevor and Nicholas "Nick" Netz.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. directly at Woodmar Methodist Church: 7320 Northcote Avenue, Hammond, Indiana 46324.
Robert was born in Fargo, ND, on September 9, 1937. He graduated from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering, received a MBA from The University of Chicago Business School and professional engineering licenses with the states of Indiana and Illinois. His business career started at Kimberly Clark in Apelton, WI, and he was employed at Inland Steel as a manager, Com Ed, Sargent & Lundy Due Diligence.
He served on the Board of Directors for Community Concerts and served as their treasurer for many years. Robert served in many capacities for several years with the Munster Lions Club and was an active member of Woodmar Methodist Church He volunteered with Paws For Peace along side his devoted dog Miss Honey. His greatest accomplishment was being a loving and supportive husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather "PaPa".
