Natalie Johnson age 56, of Hobart, IN, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents: Fred Sr. and LaVerne; her brothers: Fred Jr. & Tom Dauksza. Also preceded in death by her daughter Alexis. She is survived by Larry Hurley, daughters: Kim (Bob), Trish (John), Candice (Dayna), Autumn (Julien); sons: Alex and Nick. Also survived by her ten grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Natalie was proud to have grown up in Calumet City, IL, where she began her vendor business “Natalie’s Novelties” for 30 years. She was the founder of the facebook page “ I survived cal city 60409” with over 2.7k followers. She was very independent and strong willed and raised her children to be the same way. She was a generous person, who would give the shirt off her back. She took many people into her home. Natalie was proud that her son Alex is serving our country in the US Army. She also took pride in her grandchildren and was proud to watch her first born grandson graduate high school. She loved music and was the queen of karaoke. She enjoyed going to many concerts with her children and friends. Her final wish of seeing Elton John was fulfilled in November 2017.

Natalie’s children would like to extend their gratitude to Southern Care Hospice and her nurse Melissa for their compassionate service.

A Memorial service will be held in Natalie’s honor on April 07,2018 11:00 A.M. with luncheon to follow at 12:00 P.M. at Black Oak Baptist Church: 6502 W. 25th Ave. Gary, Indiana 46406 with Pastor Robert Parnell officiating.
