Mary "Nana" Villalpando (nee Alvarez) passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2017. She was born to the late Teofilo and Severina Alvarez. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Abel and Teofilo. Mary was a devoted wife of 60 years to Isaac and a cherished mother to eleven: Isaac Jr., Annie, Abel (Sophia), Linda (Dan), David (Linda), Judith (Israel), Paul, Patricia (Butch), Thomas (Traci), Andrew and Diana (Tim). She was a grandmother to Cecilia, Alex, Brittany, Matthew, Tiffany, Israel (Angelica), Amanda (Lance), Nicolas, CJ, Jasmine, Jacob, Lucas, Daniel, Alex, Vanessa, Marisol, Emelia and Jordan. As well as great grandma to Madison, Aleeya, Maddie, Chloe, Carly, Toby and Leena.
Mary was loving and caring to everyone and most proud to be called "Nana." She was a "Mother" to all that she met. She will be truly missed and loved. She was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church in Munster, Indiana.
Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Castle Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 10 AM at the Carmelite Monastery: 1628 Ridge Road Munster, IN 46321. Memorial to follow at 1 PM at Sacred Heart Church's Rose Room: 1731 La Porte Ave. Whiting, IN, 46394. Final resting place will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
