Miss Bona was employed by War Assets Administration in Hammond, IN, Fifth Army Headquarters in Chicago, IL, and Civilian Personnel Office headquartered in Washington D.C. She retired from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services in Chicago, IL. She was employed by the Federal Government for 37 years. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, St. Andrew Polish Choir, Alter and Rosary Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post 330.

Helen’s life revolved around her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. You would always find Helen in the yard playing games, in the toy room or swimming pool, or at the kids’ table. “Her kids” were her top priority! Helen had “exquisite” taste and loved elegant parties with martinis and champagne. Every party, dinner, or gift was the best one she’d ever attended or received, and you could always expect a hand-written Thank You card. Helen truly was an angel among us.
