Esther Teresa Bolek (nee Panfil)

Esther Teresa Bolek (nee Panfil), age 98, of Calumet City, passed away June 19, 2018, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is survived by her loving son, Frederick (Karen) Bolek of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two granddaughters: Candice Bolek of Sherman Oaks, California, Lauren Roberts and her husband Scott of Brentwood, Tennessee; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Hattie Panfil; four brothers: Stanley (Irene), Harry (Helen), Leonard (Edna) and Paul (Ethyl) Panfil; and three sisters: Emily (Frank) Lesczynski, Rita (Stanley) Grzych and Joan (Joseph) Tabaczynski.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 starting with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, IL 60409 followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Church: 768 Lincoln Avenue, Calumet City, with Father Ronald Kondziolka celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Esther had been a resident of Calumet City since she was born in 1919. She moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky in June of 2011. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. She had also been a member of several organizations including: The Rosary Society, The Apostleship of Prayer Society, St. Rita's Altar Guild, The Carmelite Guild, St. Andrew's Sunshine Club and the Lever Brother's Retirement Club. She retired from the Lever Brothers Corp. in 1983 with 33 years of service. She had enjoyed earlier employment with Rand McNally and Inland Steel (during World War II). Esther was a devoted mother and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed the company of her large family, her numerous friends, and her association with the Parish of St. Andrews. She will be truly missed.
