Diane J. Alyea (nee Broholm)

Diane (Butch) Alyea, age 70, of Sauk Village, IL passed away peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2019. She is survived by her mother Dorothy Broholm, her husband Terrill Alyea; her 2 daughters Terri Alyea and Christy (Gary) Alyea. Super proud Gammy of Elijah, Avery, Blaine & Isabella. And her close friend Traci Witt & family.

Diane’s talents were many; she was a hairdresser, seamstress, cake decorator, baker and a crafter at heart. She shared her love of crafts with her kids and grandkids. Baking creative birthday cakes to raising caterpillars into butterflies. Holidays were a time of traditions and she loved to make them special. Halloween being her favorite holiday, she made numerous costumes and burned hands making homemade popcorn balls. Christmas meant baking dozens of cookies with the grandkids. Memories and traditions her family will carry on in her memory.

Preceded in death by her father Elmer “Bud” Broholm and her sister Norma Spiller.

There will be a celebration of Diane’s life on Saturday, June 8, 2019 between 12:00pm-4:00pm located at the Knights of Columbus 1400 S Broad St. Griffith, IN. Food and beverages will be provided
