Cynthia S. Chmieleski (nee Grys)

Cynthia S. Chmielewski, (nee Grys) of Calumet City, IL passed away September 19, 2018. She was 68 years old. Daughter of the late Frank and Sally Grys. Wife of the late George Chimielewski. Sister-in-law of Cindy (Gary) Kirkland. Mother of Luke (Kelly) Chmielewski and grandmother of Katie, Erik, and Karyna. Sister of Sherry (Jim) Sury and aunt of Jackie (Jacob) Huppenthal and Angie (Zon) Haralovich. Survived by many cousins, great aunt to Isaiah, Damian, Jake, and Aaron Huppenthal, and Jordan, Madison, Xavier, and Zachary Haralovich.

Graduate of Thornton Fractional North, Cindy worked as an administrative assistant at Illiana Federal Credit Union and Versatile Card Technology. She was very involved in several aspects of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and the Boy Scouts of America Calumet Council. Cindy loved teaching, traveling, and cooking with her family and friends and enjoyed taking pictures of her loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 248 155th Place, Calumet City, IL followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Church: 768 Lincoln Ave., Calumet City, IL. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
