Alice Marie Jones passed away on February 25, 2018 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields. She was well-tended by the caring doctors and nurses in her final hours. She enjoyed simple things, and before her passing, she had many moments of really enjoying her life.
-Moments of eating Italian beef sandwiches, which she had never had before living in Illinois (dipped with double sweet peppers)
-Moments like going shopping with her daughter, Janice, in the snow (also a new experience for her)
-Moments of making scrambled Egg Beaters in the sauce pan she permanently “borrowed” from Janice’s apartment
-Moments of eating guacamole (which she loved and always called “guatemala”)
-Moments of reminding Janice to always turn to God for guidance
-Moments of insisting Janice got the clothes out of the dryer right way because that way you wouldn’t need to iron everything
-Moments of eating cheesecake (which she LOVED, especially strawberry swirl)
-Moments of pure joy and laughter when watching things like the Clue tribute episode of the TV show Psych or the singing in Florence Foster Jenkins
-Moments of watching holiday movies on the Hallmark channel with the lights off and the three mini-Christmas trees lit
-And moments of just peacefully existing
Now her moments will be very different because she is now forever in the presence of the wonderfully kind God she always loved.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
Isaiah 43:19
